We decided to sell my husband's house after we decided to build a nice bath. At that point it kinda got out of hand. All the work is custom cut and fit, with cedar, alder, pine, oak and redwood used. It has been a labor of love and I think my bathroom is next!
The tub, shower and toilet are raised since the fool who built it put the plumbing in after he poured concrete. All the plumbing is under the plywood floor, screwed down for (hopefully not needed) any repairs.
Joe did the plumbing and electrical and helped me get the sheetrock up. He is a great guy, and even easy to work with mostly. I did the wood working.

This is what happens when you have too many "honey-dos"

Early demolition of partition wall, shower out behind it

Clean up never ends

Caught in the act

Tub walls and surround done

The walls took a lot of time and energy, but are really worth it

In front of the shower, the only place we could join into the existing plumbing. Joe did an
amazing job trying to keep stuff flowing downhill and venting upwards. The house has a main shutoff
and drains for hot and cold, under the back of the tub in an invisible panel

Even around the tub the plumbing was tricky, he put the faucet handles
at arms reach

Progress sometimes goes backwards, still varnishing

Bought the vanity base at Habitat's surplus store for around 50 bux, it's oak
the trim is cedar, top is yellow pine, splash red cedar

The drawers and doors are a kit, the rest is custom fit red cedar. The other side
will be built the same, with tv space since it is at the bottom of the tub

Not a bad place to take a bath...

Or a shower. Joe wants a glass door, I think so too now

*I* like it!

The finished vanity and closet area

Hanging the mirror trim, finished sink area

Joe making sure it all fits

New shower door, looks classy I think!

All well-done pieces need a signature, I kept trying to think of an
unobtrusive area to "sign" the work. I put it on the back of the mirro trim, in reverse. You can only
see it if you know it is there, with a flashlight, on the bottom of the center of the mirror. I thought
it was clever and pretty low key.
