The Xian City Wall is the only complete and continiuous city wall left in China. Many of the rest were torn down during the "Cultural Revolution" under Mao, the bricks used elsewhere. The wall is almost 9 miles long total, and about 100 feet across the top. It is lit at night on top with the red lanterns, and the base is lit with spotlights. They say you can see it flying into Xian at night. You can walk, bicycle or rent a golf cart to go around the whole wall top is you like.
