I have always liked Scott Jacobs Harley Davidson paintings, but not enough to buy one at the prices available.
While on the cruise, a new one came up, the one I bought. I also bought another older one, "Panacea" at a
great price. You know me and Panheads, this is an early, bright red one! Anyway. "Flower Power", the one
I bought shown above, came out in 2005 in an edition of 50 total. There is also another "Flower Power", but
it was never printed and the original hangs at CBS studio headquarters. When I asked Scott about the 'two'
paintings with the same name, he said that "no one else had ever caught that fact before, and since the first
painting was never printed, he did not think it was an issue". Since he's the painter, I guess he can do
whatever he wants to!
The rest of the story: This painting was originally done for HD's 100th anniversary, but they did not pick the
painting up for it. It was held until 2005, then was released as a run of 50. But, the blank card on the front was
never signed with anything. On my copy, number 40 of 50, Scott signed the front empty card with "All my love,
Scott Jacobs '06". On the back he wrote a small personal note to me and signed it again there.
So, another two painting join the small collection, along with "Enthusiast" and "The Party" from David Uhl, and
"Bobbed Wire" by Tom Fritz.
