SHARON'S HAWAII PHOTOS
I took this photo on a gorgeous January day in Hawaii, looking towards Diamond Head.
This is another shot of Diamond Head from another perspective.
This photo was taken at sunset while waiting for the bus to take me to the airport. I had done some shopping at the big mall on Oahu, Koana something, and saw this clipper ship slowly moving across the horizon of the sea. I used my sunglasses as a filter, and this is the result.
I lived in Hawaii before it was a state, back in 1959. I know, my age is showing. I really enjoyed the time I lived there, and left in 1963. We left and spent 2 years in Japan, in Yokohama, courtesy of my dad's stint in the US Navy.
I had never expected to go back to Hawaii, but after coming back from Antarctica, I had the chance to travel back by air from Auckland, New Zealand to Honolulu, to Los Angeles. Needless to say I took that route.
I really did enjoy seeing the island after 30 years. I took the city busses all over the island, spending a total of about $2.00 for the day for travel. I spent 4 days there, and then, back to work.
