FINALLY!!! The Oncidium Lanceanum I bought bare root two years ago, finally bloomed. It had a spike in June and bloomed in August, and has been blooming ever since! Here is a close up of the bloom and a nice plant shot.

This photo is an unknown cymbidium that my wonderful husband bought me for Valentine's day at the local grocery store. It is HUGE!! It is in a 16 inch pot, with at least 12 bulbs. It NEEDS to be repotted badly, but I have not gotten around to it yet. I will before it comes on the porch for winter... (I keep telling myself...)

This sweet little thing is from Gold Country Orchids in California. It is a Ctna. For Naught (Cnn Why Not x C. Forbesii). The flower is only about one and a half inches across, the whole plant is only about three inches across and the leaves only four inches long!

As dendrobiums go, this one has just gone crazy for me. It is "White Christmas 'Maiko' ". This is a nobile type dendrobium and likes to be kept dry all winter, blooming on the top of the canes at the beginning of spring. It bloomed late December, then put on another 4 blooms in late February, lower on the same cane.

This is a miniature dendrobium I bought in bloom for our wedding last September. 'Lim Chong' is all the tag says. It stayed in bloom for almost 3 months, and has put on two new growths this spring. It does not apear to be going to bloom this year, but the plants have suffered some neglect this year, while I was gone working in Fairbanks Alaska. They were:
overfertilized, under watered, over watered, and almost sunburnt twice. In the exact same place as last year even! I also lost four plants to squirels this spring too!! Drats, pass the shotgun, please!

This lovely beauty was bought as an oncidium, but it is NOT. I found out from a catalog I got from Odom Orchids (an incredible, many photod' catalog!!), that it is in fact, a Dgmra. Flying High 'Stars and Bars' HCC/AOS (Mtssa. Jet Setter x Odm McNabianum). It had seven gorgeous blooms that were about two inches across and almost three inches long. The spike was at least 24 inches tall! I am not a yellow fan, but this one definately caught my eye and heart. Now whether or not I can get it to bloom next year???

This is another unknown Cymbidium that bloomed for me over the winter of 97/98. I came home from Antarctica to find it in spike, and it bloomed well in late January and February.

These are the only photos of good quality to scan, so these will have to tempt you till next years blooms!
